Probably one of my most acclaimed anthologies, at least at that point in my career. I suspect that it struck such a responsive chord in readers because the poems reveal the extraordinary hidden in familiar, everyday love and loss. I think that spirit is captured in the subtitle, Poems for Each Other. As with my other collections, I tried to blend the voices of established poets with those of the new kids on the block. I'm especailly fond of the cover art, painted by Neil Waldman, the artist who created about half a dozen or so of my covers.
